Every estate agent wants a ‘killer room’, the kind of spot in a house that will let them close a deal there and then, killing any ambiguity in a buyer’s head and making a seller’s bank fuller than Scrooge McDuck’s bank vault.
You won’t find these killer features in every property. Indeed, some homes look wonkier than a broken leg in a fairground mirror, but every house can be made impressive with a little bit of cash and time.

Safe as houses
Safety is a major concern for property buyers. Is the house in the right area? Will living there be like The Waltons or The Wire? Is there a police station round the corner or a den of gangsters?

First off, invest in a few burglar alarms, the kind that’ll be visible at the front door. If you want to top off the security system, buy a security camera that’ll be visible from the driveway. But try not to overdo it. This is a home, not a barracks.
