6 easy steps for easy office removals

Moving office isn’t the easiest of tasks and when you have lots of work to be doing at the same time, it can be incredibly stressful. However, whilst you may not be able to have the fairytale office removals you dream of, you can have a far less stressful relocation by following these six easy steps. You can save money, time and a great deal of stress by using these useful tips that will get your move in shape.
1. Make the most of totes
Use reusable totes for your move as it will speed it all up and make the packing process a lot faster. You can actually rent out totes and use the boxes for books, files and whatever else you have in your office that needs moving.

2. Empty your file cabinets
You may think that this sounds like an obvious thing to do but honestly, we’re telling the truth when we say a lot of people forget to do it. So don’t forget to empty your file cabinets when you move to a new office and place you files in the totes. Once the move is complete, you can put the files back in the cabinets. But during the move, it is definitely a sensible and wise idea to empty them out of the cabinets, otherwise they could end up getting damaged and it’s going to add to the weight of the cabinets, hence causing the lifting to be harder.

3. Get your floor plan sorted
Make an office floor plan before you move your office belongings. This way, the movers will know exactly where you want your office items. This will just make everything so much clearer. Show this plan or give a copy to your removal company – if you are hiring one – and then they will know exactly where to place your belongings.

4. Carts – use them!
Library carts and computer carts are ideal for transporting a computer monitor or any other items that may be tricky to move. All you have to do is wheel them out and place them in the van – simple. However, it is a good idea to ensure they are all packaged well. Use materials like bubble wrap to wrap them. This is a great and easy way to transport items from your office and load them onto the van, saving lots of time. You can rent carts easily too.

5. Label! Label! Label!
We can’t stress enough how vital labeling your items is! You should label everything you move. And it is even more important with boxes, because if you arrive at your new office with a stack of blank boxes, it’s going to be a nightmare sorting through them and you are going to have to unbox them all to know what is in each box. Save yourself the hard work and the time by labeling each box and each item. It will make unpacking so much easier. Time is precious and by labeling, you will be saving yourself no end of time.

6. Consider a professional company
Hiring a professional moving company might be a good idea when you move to a new office. A commercial relocation can be so chaotic at times and it makes so much sense to hire the experts for help. You can count on them to do a great job. So definitely consider hiring a professional company for help and you are guaranteed to have a stress free move.
