New prop tech firm recruits start-up expert Mal McCallion

Start-up expert Mal McCallion has been appointed to head up new business at Prop Tech Solutions, a firm launched by property experts Bob Scarff and Rob Wellstead last month.

Initially focusing on lead management tool Callwell, McCallion’s remit is to broaden the customer base for the service, whilst helping to incubate and develop complementary new technology products and services.

Callwell enables agents to capture all of their leads on one system and prioritise those leads through a dashboard. Most significantly, it enables agents to contact a customer within seconds of a lead being detected. Current users of Callwell include Northfields and Martyn Gerrard, a consistent winner of Rightmove’s mystery shop.

Mal has spent 16 years immersed in property technology and was most recently CEO of raterAgent. He was also involved in the launch of prop tech start-ups Zoopla and Primelocation.

Commenting, Mal McCallion, said:  “It’s a real honour to have been invited to lead such a strong entrant into the prop tech space.  I have been lucky enough to be part of some great start-up projects with inspirational entrepreneurs over the years I’ve been involved in property technology. To now be working with Bob Scarff and Rob Wellstead, to grow Callwell and create new products that will benefit agents in their day-to-day lives, is hugely exciting. I’m looking forward to using all my start-up experience to build something really special here.”

Commenting Bob Scarff, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mal aboard. His track record of being part of new businesses that flourish is exceptional and we’re confident that his knowledge and experience will ensure the success of our vision.”
