Strategic restructuring for Auction House in the North West

Leading property auctioneer Auction House is restructuring its operation in the North West of England, as a strategic response to the surge in residential and commercial activity across the region.

The group has created two tailored auction businesses in the area: Auction House Manchester operated by multi award winning estate agents Ryder & Dutton at the Etihad Stadium, and a newly-formed Auction House North West in association with regional estate agents Farrell Heyworth, one of the largest independent estate agencies in the North West of England, which brings together their auction activities previously run as Auction House Lancashire, Liverpool and Manchester West, with a new central saleroom at Bolton FC’s Macron Stadium.

Auction House Founding Director Roger Lake said: “Manchester and the North West are the nucleus and the engine room of the new ‘Northern Powerhouse’. Growth and regeneration are being pursued in parallel and the whole area has heightened activity. This changing picture and the many opportunities it offers have prompted a restructure within Auction House Group aimed at supporting the expanding need for an auctions service that is focused, diverse and better able to deliver for sellers and buyers in the region.”

The restructuring is being further enhanced by the launch of Auction House North West Commercial – a partnership between one of the area’s leading commercial agents, Roger Hannah & Co and the newly formed Auction House North West.

Commenting on the move, Roger Lake explained: “Despite the North West having the most active commercial auctions market outside London, the area has historically been underserviced. But with the involvement of Roger Hannah & Co, we can now provide a multi-disciplined, RICS supported alternative, which brings together all of our lots – residential, commercial, investments and land – into a combined catalogue. This is a huge opportunity for the Auction House Commercial brand, which we aim to grow significantly into the future.

“All in all, this restructuring adds up to an unbeatable proposition for the area: specialist local knowledge and expertise, the marketing muscle of a national brand, and a total of 14 auctions a year – seven from Manchester’s impressive Etihad Stadium, and a further seven from Bolton’s Macron Stadium, a location which is easily accessible from all over the region.

“Auction House is already the UK’s largest residential property auctioneer and second-largest commercial property auctioneer based on lots sold. I’m fully convinced that our plans for energetic promotion across the North West will result in entries escalating rapidly.”
