Letting (& Estate) Agents – How to Get over your Fear of Public Speaking and Video Work

You are great letting / estate agent .. you like to get the details spot on..

You like to be in control .. because getting those details correct means you look good as an agent…

You like to analyse…. you like to fix things ..

You like to be good .. be seen to be good .. You crave safety and security … these awesome traits you have are some of the main reasons you are a letting / estate agent in the first place.

Yet … how many times have you said … “I don’t trust myself to out of my comfort zone .. so I will do what I know.”

and how many times have you said words like these?

“I fear facing a camera and talking at it .. the words are in my mouth but my brain goes into a mental closure or breakdown. I lose my words and my mind. But why I’m I looking too much into it and struggling to get started with something that appears straight forward but I’m in a total block”

I feel exactly the same .. we all do.

So why do we feel that and why is it holding us back?

Why is it stopping us doing stuff like videos and public speaking … here is my ‘heart on sleeve’ thoughts on this subject ….why it happens and what you can do to overcome them

I teach, guide, support, mentor, consult, counsel, partner many hundreds of UK Estate and Letting Agents in their quest to grow their estate and lettings agencies business. Old school techniques of touting, landlords wanted leaflets, ring us for a free valuation, we have sold this in your street leaflets don't work anymore. Only one thing but they were doing it so well .. and reaping the reward in terms of decent listings and decent fees, happy staff, decent sales pipeline and exchange income, managed lettings portfolios in the many hundreds .. but more importantly, they really enjoyed the job… they enjoyed getting up in the morning and people looked up to them Over 400 agents around the UK are on a mission to change the way our Estate and Lettings agency profession is perceived and looked upon, doing it town by town, city by city. I guide these 400 agents, teach them, mentor them and support them to be seen in a different light, to be seen as the ‘go to person for property’, actually be the ‘local property expert’ and prove it.
