Demand for new homes remains strong according to NHBC

The latest new home registration statistical report from NHBC reveals new home registrations continue to increase on 2016 levels.

The report states: More than 13,500 new homes were registered to be built in October, according to NHBC’s latest new home registration statistics, an increase of 12% compared to a year ago.

13,583 new homes (10,455 private sector; 3,128 affordable sector) were registered during the month, compared to 12,143 (9,196 private sector; 2,947 affordable sector) in October 2016.

NHBC UK statistics for August 2017 – October 2017 show that: The number of NHBC new home registrations was 39,752 compared to 37,552 in the same period last year.

Commenting on October’s registrations at the NHBC Annual Lunch held in Westminster, NHBC Chief Executive Steve Wood said: “After the promising figures reported for the third quarter of 2017, we have continued to see growth across many parts of the UK.

“As ever, the demand for new homes remains strong, so this is clearly encouraging news for the industry and prospective new home buyers as we approach the end of the year.”
