National Federation of Builders (NFB) Plays a Key Role in COVID-19 Communication

NFB is playing a key and active role in providing valuable information to its members. With information it can be difficult for businesses to find industry specific and appropriate advice that meets their business needs.

Richard Beresford, Chief Executive of the federation, comments ‘The NFB has played a critical advice line to its members by analysing the advice from Government and other sources and making the policy, commercial and practical guidance that is specific to our construction sector members’.

The NFB has created a COVID-19 member library that is updated daily and communicates with its members on the issues affecting them during this Crisis. NFB has issued over 30 emails to over 13 thousand construction companies, aiding there knowledge and understanding of the current crisis and government guidance / help.

Beresford continues ‘Our members have access to NFB’s construction specific advice and guidance online and also call our dedicated specialists for advice on Covid-19 and utilise our service for other business advice. On the 23 April we held a construction specific HR Briefing through a webinar and this was attended by members and HR professionals within the sector, members can also access the recording in the membership area of the NFB website’.

Since COVID-19 NFB has seen an increase in enquiries and new members due to the confusion and uncertainty of the messages from other sources. NFB Members benefit from this service and our membership services team has seen increased demand recording over 60 calls from construction companies in two hours.

New NFB member, Richard Doran of Mullen & Kelly Construction Ltd commented ‘The construction specific advice and guidance that NFB provides has been invaluable for my business, particularly through COVID-19. Joining as a member I now have access to the NFB advice lines with experts on legal, HR, Health and Safety, Environment and other business support’.
