Cameron, May and now Johnson have sacked Michael Gove

Following on from the resignation of Housing Minister Stuart Andrew earlier on Wednesday we now see Gove leaving the building joining a current total of nearly 40 MPs tendering their resignations in the last 24 hours.

Michael Gove, secretary (of state) for Housing, was sacked by Prime Minster Boris Johnson late Wednesday evening (June 6th) – His relationship almost too unreliable following (Gove) joining in to tell Mr Johnson it was time to step down along with Home Secretary Priti Patel, Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis and Welsh Secretary Simon Hart.

What will this mean to the UK housing sector? Working alongside the prime minister, Gove was involved with an in-depth review of mortgage finance and the housing market to include such trending topics (within the sector) of right to buy, house building quotas, leasehold reform and cladding remediation. Will this mean a lengthy pause / delays to any forthcoming changes or maybe a complete, waste of everyone’s time, start from scratch and revaluating? This will only feed the demand on property and prices / rentals upwards?
