5 Inexpensive Design Ideas That Can Add Class To Your Home

With the new year comes a desire to have a bit of a makeover in the home for many people. Or does it count as more of a spring clean with the addition of new furniture and accessories?

Either way, for many people, the new year prompts them to hunt for additions to their homes that they were not able to purchase in the last year but are now eager to get their hands on. But, if you are not sure where to start with style or materials, it is safe to say that you will likely be looking for items that you can add to your home to add a touch of class without paying a fortune.

So, with that in mind, what are some of the must-have home décor items of 2023? Read on to find out!

Large Clocks

Gone are the days of the small mantel clock, and now, the majority of homes that are on the higher end are opting for larger wall clocks.

Usually, these are made of steel or another galvanized metal, with one of the most popular themes being roman numerals clocks. So, if you have had enough of that piece of wall art, maybe it’s time to switch it up with a large clock.

Vintage and Modern

This is more of a theme than an item, but combining vintage elements with modern pieces can create an interesting and unique look while adding a sense of history and character to a space.

This is easier to pull off if you have a home with aged features, such as beams showing or brickwork, as opposed to plasterboard.

But, one example of a steam-punkish item to have in your home could be a grandfather clock that is made of steel. Or even a 4-poster bed with a frame made of metal instead of wood?

Nature-inspired Elements

Bringing elements of nature into a space, such as botanical prints, natural textures and materials and living plants, can help to create a serene and calming atmosphere in a room.

This can be mixed with furniture items that are made from plain wood, as well as throw pillows that have plant-based prints on them. All of these are easily accessible and inexpensive, so pick a theme you like in natural prints and have fun with it.

Bright Colours

Vibrant colours can bring energy and life to a space and can be used as an accent or as the main theme of the room.

Indeed, if you choose a colour theme such as white and vibrant red, you can easily purchase items such as picture frames, curtains and throw rugs in red. Or, why not have a bit of a DIY challenge and paint or dye the items yourself?

A colour scheme in any home is going to be classy, so choose your favourite colours and experiment.

Candle Holders

When most people are asked to picture a living area or sitting room that is classy, they will think of items such as candle holders being spread around the room.

Simple candle holders can add a touch of elegance to a room and create a warm, inviting atmosphere, and best of all, they come in a range of materials and colours, so you can choose a set that matches the rest of your decor. Great!
