Searches surge for Moclín in Spain due to Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job

New data from the UK’s biggest overseas property website Rightmove reveals that searches have surged for Moclín in Spain, due to the popularity of hit show Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job.

Set this year in Moclín in Granada, Spain, the programme sees Amanda Holden and Alan Carr renovating a home and putting it up for sale.

There have been over 85,000 searches for Moclín so far this year, compared with just 104 at this time last year, equating to a more than 800 times surge. It’s the biggest year-on-year increase Rightmove has recorded of any overseas location in 2025.

The increase makes Moclín the 34th most searched for location in Spain so far in 2025, up from position 795 over the same period in 2024.

The wider area of Granada has also seen a nearly three times increase (+277%) from curious searchers.

The home renovated by Amanda Holden & Alan Carr will be up for sale on Rightmove this evening, Friday 14th March.

Steve Pimblett, Rightmove’s Chief Data Officer says: “This is the latest example of real-world events influencing the way millions of people search for property. As people have seen Amanda and Alan’s renovation project and learned about the area of Moclín, they’ve turned to Rightmove to see what living there could be like. We expect the home will draw a lot of attention, and hopefully find the right buyer.”
