Tenant demand strong, landlord supply shrinking
New RICS data shows tenant demand at its strongest in over a year – while landlord supply keeps shrinking. That’s not bad luck. It’s a trust problem, and it’s fixable.
“These numbers should be good news for landlords. Demand is the strongest it’s been in over a year. Instead, they are deciding to head for the exit at the same rate demand is climbing. That gap tells you everything about where trust in this market currently sits.
“Tenants aren’t the problem. Rents aren’t the problem. The problem is that too many landlords have decided the hassle isn’t worth it – and most agents are still pitching the same service that failed to convince them last time.
“If you want landlord instructions to move the other way, stop selling a one-size-fits-all two-option service – fully managed or let only. And start selling certainty – compliance handled, cash flow protected, no surprises. That’s not a nice-to-have anymore. It’s the whole pitch.”
