“Housing Crisis”

The “Housing Crisis” is now that bad that The Prime Minister has made it clear that “heads will roll” if there is a failure to get more homes built and reverse the decline in home ownership over the next few years.” Isabel Hardman reportedly says in an article in The Times, “Some ministers have been left in no doubt that if they don’t deliver the PM’s priorities, they’ll lose their jobs.”

House building is taking place across the country, it can actually be seen if we take the time to notice it, for example,  recently on a visit to Colchester it was very evident the number of house building projects going on in and around the town.

The targets to provide sufficient homes and how close the government gets to acheiving them is forever under scrutiny, who sets these targets and on what criteria are they based?

Yesterday we had the figures out for immigration, “Oh dear” another missed target, a net figure of about 330,000, promises were made that significant steps would be taken to reduce immigration and we should be talking figures in the tens of thousands for the future….Not Happening!

The government just does not want admit that there is a link between  Housing and Immigration, Nick Clegg during his time in office saw no problem with immigration and that certain people were scaremongering with inflated figures, a certain Mr Nigel Farage was mentioned at the time, infact Nigel Farage has been spot on with most of his calls.

So when will the government wake up to the reality of the situation, there is a direct link between Housing and Immigration, as long as they cannot control immigration they will not be able to control the number of homes to build to satisfy demand, it is a matter of simple mathematics.
