Bibury searches nearly quadruple after global ‘most beautiful village’ title

  • The average asking price of a home in the GL7 postcode, where Bibury is located, is £510,899, almost £150,000 more than the national average asking price

New data from Rightmove, the UK’s largest property platform, reveals that searches for homes for sale in Bibury surged by 273% last week compared to the previous week, following its recent accolade as the most beautiful village in the world.

Bibury topped the global ranking, ahead of other picturesque villages from around the world, sparking a renewed wave of buyer curiosity.

Homes in Bibury’s postcode district (GL7) have an average asking price of £510,899, which is almost £150,000 more than the national average asking price (£370,247).

Bibury and the Cotswolds have long been popular with buyers. The latest snapshot of Rightmove’s data shows the five most in-demand Cotswold hotspots overall are Cirencester, Moreton-in-Marsh, Tetbury, South Cerney, and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Last year, Rightmove recorded a 63% increase in searches for homes for sale in Burford after Jeremy Clarkson opened ‘The Farmer’s Dog’ pub nearby.
