East of England to have ‘affordable homes’ boost thanks to merger
Good news for the East of England and would be home owners as the recent merger between Flagship Group and Victory Housing Trust is said to create the largest Housing Association in the region with approximately 30,000 property in the portfolio managed.
Supporting around 400 new jobs will also give a positive vibe for employment figures in the region.
There is speak of development plans of around 2,500 new homes that were not originally on the agenda with figures of over 10,000 new affordable home builds over the next 10 years.
Philip Burton, vice-chairman of Flagship Group, and chairman of Victory, said: “There will be a significant increase in the number of new homes being built, and £15m savings in the first five years.” Full report on Eastern Daily Press – Property.
