Estate Agents – 1 minute read – If it’s good enough for Google……..

I think most people would agree that Google is a pretty successful outfit.

The undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the internet search has entrenched itself in our everyday lives.

The people at Google are smart – very smart.

So smart are these digital geniuses that they send out fliers. Yep. They do. I’ve just had one.

Our postman delivered a mail out through the letterbox from them yesterday advertising a special offer they are running on their Ad Words service.

So if the World’s biggest online search engine uses direct mail what does that mean for estate agents?

For me the message is clear – don’t be scared to use different, even ‘old fashioned’, ways of getting in front of your customer.

Sure it pays to have a great online presence, and yes having a social media profile (when done properly) can build rapport with your market BUT don’t dismiss direct mail IF it passes the three finger test.

  • Is it interesting? Not – ‘We have 10000000 people looking for a home like yours.’
  • Is it entertaining? Write as if you are having a chat not giving a dull lecture.
  • Is it informative? Are you sharing useful information about the local area, property market or something that falls under the ‘help not hype’ header.

If direct mail outs are good enough for Google then they’re good enough for me and my clients.

Thanks for reading and here’s to your next instruction.

Jerry

PS: Big shout to all of you who gave me feedback on my PR training for estate agents idea. The first sessions are taking place in September.

PPS: I’ve a belting example of an interesting, entertaining and informative mailer I can share with you just ping me an email to Jerry@propertyprexpert.co.uk – saying ‘Three Fingers’.
