Halifax HPI – House price growth hits brick wall – Andy Soloman of Yomdel comments:

Founder and CEO of Yomdel, Andy Soloman, commented:

“House price growth seems to have hit a brick wall so far in 2019, with next to no growth during January continuing the slower market trends of the previous year.

This slothful start remains consistent with many other areas of the economy but of course, seasonal factors and the prolonged air of hesitation on both the supply and demand side are largely influential, and so there is little reason to run for the hills based on these figures.

The coming months are likely to bring some small green shoots of price stability and once we emerge from our Brexit blanket in to the cold light of day having reached an agreement, further stability and upward growth should return to the market.”
