Help to Buy (Scotland)

The Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Communities and Pensioners’ Rights, Mr Neil, launched the Help to Buy (Scotland) Affordable New Build and Help to Buy(Scotland) Smaller Developer schemes on 21st January 2016, the three-year, £195 million scheme will include over £58 million for increased support for purchases from small developers.

New funding of around £160m will be targeted on home ownership schemes in Scotland in 2016/17, it will be to support 5000 households to buy their own homes, more than £80m will go to the established open market shared equity scheme (OMSE) helping up to 2,000 eligible first-time buyers on low to moderate incomes.

Home builders may register with the scheme from immediate effect.

The three year £195m Help to Buy scheme, which will help thousands of lower income households buy a new-build home, it will open for applications on March 1.
