Housing associations join forces to build 106 affordable homes

Both the GHA and Provanhall Housing Association are combing efforts and constructing the new, energy-efficient houses and flats at Auchinlea Road to provide Easterhouse with 106 new affordable homes a block of 21 flats will be designed to help older tenants live more independent lives. The £14 million development which will see 80 homes delivered for GHA and 26 for Provanhall will be ready by autumn of 2019.

Councillor Kenny McLean, Glasgow City Council convener for neighbourhoods, housing and public realm, was quoted as saying: “It’s great to see work progressing on these homes. We are delighted to work with our partners GHA and Provanhall Housing Association on this development.

The council has provided over £2m in funding for this development, another investment in high-quality affordable housing in Glasgow.

Liz McEwan, chairperson of Provanhall Housing Association was quoted as saying: ‘’We are delighted to be celebrating work on this new development, in a year that marks our 25th anniversary as a developing organisation.
