James Brokenshire MP gives nod to 11,000 affordable properties
James Peter Brokenshire MP (British Conservative Party politician serving as Communities Secretary since 2018) has unveiled plans that will see nearly £500 million put towards 11,000 affordable homes across the UK which is hoped to see the government hit their targets set of building 300,000 properties annually by the mid 2020’s.
James Brokenshire MP said: “By providing targeted investment in affordable homes, and funding innovative projects to build rooftop properties, we are making our housing market work for everyone.”
Homes England will be working on projects across the UK to include rooftop builds across London and properties dedicated for social rent.
Homes England Chairman, Sir Edward Lister, Homes England Chairman, was quoted as saying: “I welcome the new strategic partners who share our ambition to build better homes faster.”
