Landlord & Property Management firm fined £16,000 in Colchester

A news story just up the road from us, Saxons Lettings and Management Ltd along with Jide Olugbodi have been fined a total of £16,000 for ignoring complaints from tenants re poor living conditions within an unlicensed property. The five tenants within the property on Albany Gardens in Colchester had issues to include cooker and refridgerator not working , broken windows and dampness.

An environmental health officer found multiple breaches of house of multiple occupancy management regulations and that the property was not licensed. At Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court Olugbodi admitted to failing to license the property and breaching HMO management regulations and was fined £6,000 – Saxons Lettings and Management Ltd had previously paid a £10,000 via an earlier hearing.
