More landlords exiting the rental market according to Belvoir
Belvoir reveals in their latest Rental Index report – Q3 September 2017. National Rental trend for England Q3 2017: Average rent £804, 0.12% year on year increase in average rents. 1.5% increase from 2016 annual average rent to Q3 2017 average rent.
Dorian Gonsalves, Belvoir CEO said: “Our rental index shows that in terms of rental inflation the market is much more settled than recent media reports would suggest.”
Highest rents in Q3 were to be found in London (£1,436) and the South East (£1,052) according to Belvoir data.
Dorian Gonsalves also said “During Q3 more landlords were exiting the market, and less investors were buying. An increased number of offices reported that six to 10 landlords were selling up, which in turn is reducing supply. Interestingly, most offices reported a decrease in demand for HMOs and we will be tracking this trend, along with others over the following year.”
