No more ‘No DSS Please’, Love from Zoopla…
Zoopla, who are said to host around 1 million listings on their website, have stated that the phrase of ‘no DSS’ (DSS: now-defunct Department for Social Security) with regards to rental adverts will be banished in the next few weeks.
The restriction was looked in to by both Shelter and National Housing Federation. Terms and conditions will be amended on Zoopla’s property portal so to implement things in full shortly. Its cloud based software will also remove such quotes from existing listings.
A further restriction on Landlords and opening up more problems and potential profits? Half of landlords say they would not be willing to let their property out to tenants that rely on housing benefit – In the world we are living in within the UK then any discrimination needs to be looked at. If you do not like it then Zoopla is not the place for you as a landlord or you have to choose an agent to manage your property that are not using that platform… ?
