Remember that just like Rome, your blogging success can not be built up in one day:

I would not even attempt to share with you the amount of content that sits online today for us to find let alone guess what new content is hitting the internet daily from blogs to videos, news updates to photos… it is just filling up like endless stars in the galaxy. Just to give you an idea though on website and webpages,  there is approximately 1.2 billion websites on the internet and 300 Billion webpages which you can view. With this thought in mind, what do you need to do so to have the brightest shining star that gets all the attention when it comes to blogging?

Current trends and keyword focus: When you are writing a blog you must concentrate on keywords to increase SEO thus increasing the potential reach. There is little point in writing content without it containing relevant keywords that are likely to be found when people search online and when using keywords try and add links to them back to your website / webpages.

Write about what is current and in the news: As mentioned, we need to keep up to date with trends and a great way to insure good traffic to your blogs is to deal with whats happening in the industry at the time of writing especially if it is throwing up problems within the industry. Make your content a place that answers the problems the current trends in the news are posing as this will increase your reach and engagement with readers.

Bolster your blogging activities: In most occasions, just blogging alone will not guarantee readers. To reach wider audiences make sure you are sharing your blogs regularly on social media or via email marketing campaigns to increase chances of click-throughs otherwise you may be writing content that simply gets lost in space…

Use current data: To really engage readers of your blogs it is always a good thing to share current data and facts. By including stats / graphs / survey results you are enforcing the statements of your blogs and making them a more trusted source of information for the reader.

Practise and vary styles to get it right: Many top bloggers will have their own style of writing and delivering information online, in most cases this has comes with a long time committed to finding what works the best for them. It is advisable to try different styles of writing and themes for your blogging to see which get the better responses – Variations to include titles, themes, images used, length of blogs, quality and detailing of your writing. Are you trying to come across as the expert or should you write on the same level of the reader you are trying to engage with?

Be consistent: One blog a year, or a month and even once a week can sometimes be way to infrequent when it comes to blogging, especially if you have built up audiences relying on reading what you share as part of the daily / weekly routine. Many vloggers on Youtube know they have to vlog daily in order to maintain their high subscription numbers, bloggers also as if you take your foot off the peddle it only gives the opportunity for someone else to step in to your shoes…

Invest in good quality photos: Sometimes it is all about the photos of a blog just like it is for the cover of a book. Invest in good quality and eye catching images, stay away from the mundane and certainly do not use other peoples photos without permission. If you can, build up a library of your own photos that you take when you are out and about, you will be surprised about the amount of great photos you can take when you are walking around your home town.

Remember that just like Rome, your blogging success can not be built up in one day: Be patient and carry on regardless. You will not see thousands hitting your blogs daily unless you put in the effort, keep up with sharing unique blogging content daily and use all your channels of communications to share your work. Building a highly read blog can take months if not years, but the rewards can be great when you do – Many people I know earn £1,000’s monthly thanks to busy and well read blogs.
