Reports that Ministry of Defence to sell 131 sites
I’m sure you will be forgiven if you automatically assume that Ministry of Defence sites simply are army barracks, air fields, army training ranges and very similar. I honestly thought this was the main style of property in their portfolio, but this recent decision to sell of sites includes impressive and listed manors, stately homes and forts.
In a bid to raise capital (or ideally to save billions), the Ministry of Defence will be selling off some of it’s catalogue of sites to include ‘Plymouth’s Royal Citadel, Fort George in the Highlands and Grade II listed Kneller Hall in Twickenham, South West London’ as reported in The Sun.
