Warning for ‘Rogue Landlords’ at Conservative Party Conference

The Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, announced yesterday at the Conservative Party Conference, that from December,  landlords  who knowingly rent out their property  to illegal immigrants will be committing a criminal offence, and that they could go to prison for doing so.

Addressing conference she  unveiled a wide-ranging clamp-down on migrants coming to the UK, she reportedly said: “I come here today with a warning to those that simply oppose any steps to reduce net migration”.

This was her first speech at a  Conservative Party conference as Home Secretary, she said the Government will implement a three-pronged attack on illegal immigration by going after the landlords, employers and banks that allow them to function.

Today is the final day of the Conservative Party Conference at Birmingham, it will be interesting to hear what The Prime Minister, Theresa May has to say in her closing speech, overall the conference has been very positive and appears to have got the message over loud and clear, ‘Brexit means Brexit’.
