Do you need a coach?

Do you need a coach

Imagine for a moment, you have caught one too many sideways reflections in the bedroom mirror, and you decide you need to lose a bit of middle-aged padding. You buy the gear, download an app or two, and resolve to finally use that expensive gym membership, at least three times a week.

For a couple of weeks, things go well. You’re still in the fitness ‘honeymoon period’, riding high on motivation and determination. You’re feeling great.

Then you step on the scales. And the needle shows the exact number it did a fortnight ago.

That’s ok, you tell yourself; after all, muscles weigh more than fat, right?

So you buckle down, up your time on the treadmill, and cut out your daily chocolate bar. And a week later, you’re standing on the scales again.

You can’t believe it. You’ve put on two pounds. You’re absolutely gutted.

That night, you don’t go to the gym. You feel cross and dispirited. What’s the point if it’s not even working?

Over the next few weeks, your gym bag gathers dust in the corner of the bedroom, before your other half eventually kicks it under the bed.

So what went wrong?

Well, as you may have guessed, the clue is in the title of this post.

You didn’t have a coach.

I know, because I didn’t have one either. And yes, my gym bag stayed under my bed for a long, lonely time, whilst I wrestled with myself each month I saw the standing order leave my bank account. (“Should I cancel my subscription?” “But I might decide to go again…”)

Then I got a coach.

Now my fitness is improving every week, because I’m on a plan. I know my goal is achievable and realistic, because my coach has helped me set it. I know exactly what I need to do, every day; every week; every month, in order to reach my goal. The “should I – shouldn’t I” decision I was making every day has been removed; if it’s on the plan, I do it. It’s simple.

Now I have a coach, my motivation stays high, because I just follow the plan I’ve been given from someone who knows more than I do.

So what has all of this got to do with being an estate agent?

Well surprisingly, quite a lot.

I get emails every day from agents who really want to grow their business, but can’t seem to find anything that works. When I ask them what they are trying to achieve, they simply reply,“More market appraisals”. I ask them what they are already doing, and they tell me they are canvassing (sometimes), advertising (occasionally), Facebook (dabbling). And their results? “Nothing works”, they tell me.

Does that sound familiar?

Just like with a fitness regime, marketing needs a disciplined approach;you need to follow a plan that is designed specifically for you and has your outcome as a goal. And the best way to achieve that?

Get a coach.

The right coach will keep you motivated, because sticking to your plan will become enjoyable. Seeing small improvements every week will keep you enthusiastic, and on track. Every time your phone rings with a new market appraisal, generated by your plan, you’ll want to punch the air in triumph!

Here’s how one of my clients described my services recently:

“I cannot explain how much I highly recommend working with Sam. It will 100%, without a shadow of a doubt, change your business and your life, forever. Sam’s friendly and supportive guidance will take you and your business to the next level and beyond. After the programme you will look back, like I did, and wonder why you didn’t do it years ago.

Think of a library full of 1,000s of books with amazing, new, ideas for estate agents. That is basically Sam, and you come away with everything you need to blow your competitors out of the water.

It’s a no brainer.”

However…

Sadly I can’t work with everyone….

You MUST be great at what you do.

You MUST be committed to growing your business FAST! You might not know how, but that’s okay, as that’s where I come in.
