Wales leads the way.
I suspect many of you who saw the Welsh flag at the head of this Breaking News item would have thought you were going to get another report on what can only be described as one of the greatest games of football in British fooballing history last week, Wales against Belgium, well you are not, I will however add that we wish the Wales team continued success in their bid to become Winners of Europe 2016. C’mon Wales.
The point of this post was to bring to notice that the Right to Buy is now running out of time in Wales, the abolition of Right to Buy was outlined in a keynote bill to be introduced under the Welsh Government’s legislative programme for 2016-17.
Welsh first minister Carwyn Jones told the Welsh Assembly recently that six Bills will be introduced over the next year, including ensuring a sufficient supply of social housing by abolishing the Right to Buy and the Right to Acquire.
He reportedly said “This will ensure social housing is available to those who need it, and who are unable to access accommodation through home ownership or the private rented sector,”
Latest government statistics show the number of households accepted as homeless in Wales between October-December fell by 67% compared to the previous total of 405.
