House prices continue to slow down – Average price now £227,869

Is it still a string of negative news for house prices, though they still continue to rise it is now at a much slower pace… Maybe it is still positive news, depending which way you look at things, but for many it is the news they have been waiting for years to hear – Prices are falling.

I recently went to view some property locally and chats with the estate agent says that asking prices are cooling and offers are now coming back in to fashion. Property are being swapped from one agency to another as sellers hope for that bit of magic to help them sell whereas others are facing reality and reducing their asking prices. Some fear that it is not just the Christmas period causing the slow down, others see doom and gloom thanks to Brexit being a major contributor to lack of interest in over valued property.

Just a browse on Rightmove will result in many properties showing reduced prices even if they are the featured or star buy listings.

Headlines via Telegraph online states that house price growth falls to five year low.
