40 New Homes to be built over North Dorset District Council’s offices
North Dorset District Council’s offices in Blandford will be demolished with 40 new affordable homes to be built – Plans have now been approved.
Aster Group’s outline application for the redevelopment of the Nordon site received the green light by members of the council’s planning committee on Tuesday. Local senior councillors were pleased with the outcome with hope it the finished project will breathe new life back in to the area and boost the supply of much needed affordable homes.
The plans show the new homes to have either two or three bedrooms with four one-bedroom flats and one four-bedroom house.
Cllr David Walsh, cabinet member for planning, was quoted as saying: “I am pleased to see consent granted for our former offices in Blandford.
It will help breathe new life into this important site and deliver much-needed affordable housing for the town.”
