Benalmadena
The definition of a tourist hotspot, Benalmadena gains its popularity from the vast number of sights and activities it has available. From Tivoli World amusement park to a 900 square-metre ice-rink, the town also has one of the world’s best cable car rides, which transports you all the way to the top of Calamorro Mountain.

Only 25 minutes from Malaga airport, the coastal town of Fuengirola is the perfect place to live if you enjoy sandy beaches and a lively nightlife scene. The town has gone almost the opposite way of the aforementioned Estepona, having transformed from a small fishing village into a vibrant cosmopolitan town. It now features an abundance of chic boutiques and tapas-themed restaurants, and is the ideal place to be if you’re into water sports.
Having been built on flat land, the best places to live are in the apartment buildings overlooking the Paseo Maritimo – Fuengirola’s most popular esplanade. However, if you’re not fussed about having a sea view, you can purchase a two-bedroom unit just outside the area for as little as €150,000.
