The Qualities Successful Estate Agents Need in 2022

Whether you are new to the world of property or you have been an estate agent for a number of years and thoroughly know the ropes, 2022 is a new year and it is sure to have its own unique challenges. If you want to succeed and be the most successful you can possibly be, no matter what comes your way it is a good idea to work on yourself and ensure that you have what it takes to seal the deal this year.

With that in mind, now might be a good time to look at the qualities every successful estate agent is going to need in 2022:

Persistence

One of the most important traits any estate agent can have is persistence. After all, at its core, real estate is a sales job and you do not get anywhere in sales unless you are capable of following every lead to its conclusion. You need to be willing to make follow up calls, keep track of leads and stay in contact with clients until the deal is finally sealed and if you cannot do that, your sales numbers are not likely to be amazing in 2022 or any other year for that matter.

Technological capabilities

There was a time when estate agents conducted all of their business via phone, paper files and in person. That time has long gone, and you might think that there is nothing new to learn technology-wise when it comes to estate agency but you would be wrong. advancements are being made every day whether it is vias the use of lead tracking software or cloud-based document signing. If you are not able to get your head around them, you will quickly find yourself being left behind. So, keep up to date and expand your technical knowledge if you want to be the most effective and efficient real estate agent you can be.

A great personality

Whether you are taking corporate clients out for some amazing cocktails to discuss a commercial property sale or you are showing a young couple around what could be their very first home together if you want to succeed as an estate agent, you need to have a warm, friendly and confident personality. You also need to be authentic because if clients feel like you are not being yourself, they may not trust you enough to engage you in handling their sales. So, be yourself, but try to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be and you won’t go far wrong.

Problem-solving

An often overlooked quality that all of the truly great estate agents around the world have is the ability to problem-solve.

Think about it, when you are showing a client around a property they will often be worried about how they will fit their furniture in or whether they will have enough room for their dream kitchen, If you have a knack for thinking quickly and logically, you will be better able to put their minds at ease and sell them the property that they were unsure of before. This is likely to be even more important in 2022 when people may be stretching their budgets a bit, and therefore unable to simply buy the perfect property without having to think about it.

Honesty

An unethical estate agent is unlikely to get very far for very long. It is so important that you are familiar with all of the rules and regulations of the industry and that you apply them scrupulously. Rightly or wrongly, many members of the public have a poor opinion of estate agents due to bad news stories they have heard in the past. As an industry, we all need to show them that those stories are few and far between and that we can be trusted

On a personal level, you are also unlikely to make many sales if you cannot get the customers to trust in you, so the best quality you can have is one of unscrupulous honesty. Follow the rules, answer any questions you are asked truthfully, snd try to be the best person you can possibly be and you will not go far wrong in this industry.

As you can see, there are a few key qualities that estate agents should have in 2022, if they wish to be as successful as they can possibly be, but don’t worry if you don’t already possess all of these traits because they can all be learned and/or developed!
