Waterfords wins ‘Business Contribution to the Community’ Award.

Following 18 months of working with a variety of different local organisations, Waterfords estate agents, which has offices in Camberley, Sunningdale, Chobham, Fleet and Yateley, has won a Surrey Heath Volunteer Award for Business Contribution to the Community.

The awards, organised by Voluntary Support North Surrey in conjunction with Surrey Heath Borough Council, were held on Thursday 4th June at the Camberley Theatre. The awards for each of the six categories were presented by Mayor of Surrey Heath Borough Council, Cllr Joanne Potter.

Having been an agent in the local area for over 20 years, Waterfords decision to start working with not-for profit organisations was borne out of a desire to improve the local community, meet more of the people the staff come into contact with on a daily basis and give something back to those that have supported the company for so long.

To date, Waterfords has carried out work for Make a Wish Foundation, Sure Start Children’s Centre, Frimhurst House, White Lodge, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice  Christopher’s Smile and Abbey School in Farnham. In total staff have donated more than 300 hours to community support and have even more projects lined up for the coming months.

Brendan Cox, Managing Director of Waterfords commented “I’m extremely proud of all the staff. When we were first brain storming about how we could get more involved with the local community I never imaged we would be able to support so many different organisations and that the staff would enjoy it as much as they have. However, it’s not only been beneficial to those we have helped, it’s a great team building opportunity and a chance to learn about all the fantastic things that go in in our local area. Receiving recognition for the help we have offered is just an added bonus.”
