Repairs and Maintenance for rented properties.

The Fixflo report for 2015 out at the end of July makes very good reading and confirms how essential it is for Letting agencies to have a repair and maintenance management system in place.

Research into the first 70,000 reports through Fixflo in 2015 showed: Busiest times for repairs being reported are between 9am-10am weekdays, one third of issues are reported outside office hours, most common foreign language is Polish, see the full report on their website for additional details. http://www.fixflo.com/Home

Survey of over 250 letting agents comprising more than 750 branches showed: 46% of letting agents  know a landlord who switched letting agency due to a repair related issue, 85% of repairs are completed within a week, each property has on average  3.4  repairs a year, each repair takes on average 90 mins of staff time to resolve.

It is important that agencies understand that from the 1st October this year changes will take place as to how the repairs for new tenancies are managed, now is the time to get such processes in place.
