Can Video Make an Estate Agency Star?

I’ve spent a lot of time recently watching videos.

All in the name of professional research (that old chestnut I hear you cry).

But genuinely it is. You see I do a lot of reviews on agency websites and that of their nearest and dearest rivals.

It’s interesting work and I feel strongly that the use of video is THE biggest area where estate agents can improve their website content enormously. And by doing so they can go a long way to building trust and rapport with their local audiences.

Why?

One example of video power happened to me recently. I had been contacted by an agent who wanted to meet up to discuss PR stuff and marketing ideas.

It was the first time we’d met so I jumped online prior to the meeting and looked at his company’s website and saw he had made a video.

He came across well in it, it was professionally shot, nicely edited and carefully scripted without feeling wooden.

I felt like I knew him, and liked him, before having ever met him.

And there dear reader is why I think video is such a powerful medium for agents.

When you are called round for a valuation wouldn’t it be great if the prospective vendor already had that comforting feeling of knowing you a little and ideally warming to you before you even met?

More agencies are adopting the use of videos on their websites and as part of their PR and marketing campaigns. Some good, some bad.

But I feel we can do a lot better than talking head shots where the big boss simply waxes lyrical about his or her brilliant agency to the camera.

With a little creativity, courage and chutzpah agencies can create videos that people talk about and share. Videos that are remarkable. And different.

How?

Well I’ve teamed up with a professional actress who advises on presentation, tone and all that jazz and a director chap who is an expert at shooting films for company use.

The one difference from the vast majority of what I’ve seen out there already is the quality and creativity of the scripts and ideas these guys are producing.

Now I’m not suggesting Hollywood blockbusters here, simply videos that go a long way to getting people to know your agency, like your agency and trust your agency.

If you are interested in finding out if video can make you an estate agency star ping me an email at Jerry@propertyprexpert.co.uk.

Thanks for reading and here’s to your next instruction.

PS: The intro video on my site is over a year old and while it was well received at the time just like Louis Van Gaal it has ran its course and is being replaced.

PPS: Free book from my marketing library to the first person who emails with the name of the band that sung Video Killed the Radio Star.
