Demand for new homes remains strong says NHBC
NHBC’s latest new home registration statistics reveals that more than 13,500 new homes were registered to be built in August, an increase of 9% compared to a year ago.
During June – August 2017, the number of NHBC new home registrations was 38,360 compared to 37,145 in the same period last year. Of these: 28,866 were registered in the private sector, compared to 28,247 in the same period last year, 9,494 were registered in the affordable sector, compared to 8,898 in the same period last year.
Commenting on August’s figures, NHBC Business Development Director Neil Jefferson said: “The sustained growth in new home registrations has continued as we approach the latter part of the year.
“The demand for new homes remains strong, so it is a promising sign that August’s registrations show growth in both the private and affordable sectors and across half of the UK regions.”
As the leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes in the UK, NHBC’s registration statistics are a lead indicator of the UK’s new homes market. Read the NHBC August new home registration statistics report posted 28th September 2017 in full click here.
