Estate Agency leaflets – What’s the attraction?

My life is that exciting these days that I am hoarding leaflets that get shoved through our letter box, well, let me narrow that down a bit and say that I keep hold of all the estate agency ones more so! Anyway, many of us will know the burden of what I would say is illegal littering, whereas an unrequested amount of marketing material is dumped on our door mats near enough each and every day from local takeaways to garden maintenance, vote UKIP to our friendly old local online estate agent who is remotely located 250 miles away…

So, what recent gems have I seen from the property industry in the last few weeks so ask? Let me take a look at some:

  • FennWrightSold in your Area is their headline in each of the leaflets they send out, I have two here in my hand received over the last couple of weeks – recommendation guys, show properties with sold signs on not for sale signs when you want to share photos of properties you have sold as this will help to confirm the message you are looking to share out.
  • Palmer and PartnersWhen it comes to selling or letting your home… problem solved. Yes, a good headline, plus they bolster their position in the market by releasing Rightmove stats declaring them to be the best performing agent… But their success is all let down terribly by poor spelling.

  • Willam H Brown – One I received over Christmas which I kept with their message of not so silent night and many stats that would make the marketing team of Rightmove rubbing their hands with glee. William H Brown certainly doing their fair share of promoting Rightmove here that you would think it was a message from Rightmove themselves, only when you turn the leaflet over do you know it might just be an estate agency trying to get your business.
  • William H Brown – Again we have one from this agency, with a more direct and clear marketing message of thinking of buying, selling, renting or letting in 2017? They provide a useful mini calendar on the back where you can apparently pick your date in 2017 to get moving with William H Brown.
  • Edward Lee – Again a double hit from an agency with one of their leaflets stating sell your property for £999 + VAT for Any Property Any Price, Sole or Multi Agency. A neat looking leaflet and of course a big ‘what’s in it for me the client‘ message on the front and what with the Purple Bricks surge in the UK educating consumers nationally that there are cheaper solutions for selling your home, this agency Edward Lee are looking to compete with the current trend.
  • Beresford – A nice stand out design, house with chimney etc, and a question of Thinking of selling or letting your property? I think the message on the back of free no obligation valuation is now a little old hat as we all know it costs nothing to have our homes valued these days and that most estate agents are hungry for new valuations due to a shortage of property for sale. What Beresford do well, is confirm their strong hold in the local property market by sharing all of their regional office contact details so you know you have a local yet well connected estate agency if you want to sell or let your next home.
  • Beresford – Yes again, many estate agents like to double up with their leaflets! A standard image on the front which I know is a well used stock image (as I have used it many times). I would recommend a local photo of local property that most people locally would recognise, but again a strong message on the back with them listing all their offices and stating the signs are good with Beresford.
