Former Kildare County Councillor fraud case totalling €200,000

A fraud figure of €200,000 is the shocking headline here – Former Kildare councillor. Mark Dalton. who pleaded guilty last April to thieving from Kildare Housing Association has had his case adjourned once more.

Judge Patrick Quinn pushed things back until March 26 for sentencing at Naas Circuit Court. Addicted to gambling was the excuse – I am addicted to Champagne, does this count?

28 charges are being faced by the alleged thief – Let us hope that the industry continues to clean itself up by enforcing the full law in this matter, not only repayment in full of the money stolen, but fines and a sentence – Normal no?
