July 2019 Price Paid Data from HM Land Registry

  • The most expensive residential property sold in July was in Kensington and Chelsea for £10,450,000
  • The cheapest residential property sold in July was in Burnley for £18,000
  • 15.3% increase in newbuilds compared to July 2018

The most expensive residential sale taking place in July 2019 was of a semi-detached property in Kensington and Chelsea for £10,450,000. The cheapest residential sale in July 2019 was of a terraced property in Burnley for £18,000.

The most expensive commercial sale taking place in July 2019 was in Bristol for £35,000,000. The cheapest commercial sale in July 2019 was in Barnet for £100.

Of the 93,545 sales received for registration 30,790 took place in July 2019 of which:

  • 687 were of residential properties in England and Wales for £1 million and over
  • 390 were of residential properties in Greater London for £1 million and over
  • 5 were of residential properties in West Midlands for more than £1 million
  • 3 were of residential properties in Greater Manchester for more than £1 million
  • 1 was of a residential property in Wales for more than £1 million

This month’s Price Paid Data includes details of more than 93,500 sales of land and property in England and Wales that HM Land Registry received for registration in July 2019.

  • 72,327 were freehold, a 0.7% increase on July 2018; and
  • 13,632 were newly built, a 15.3% increase on July 2018.
