Landlord fined £10,000 for poor living conditions of tenants

Clamping down on landlords continues across the UK with the latest being Mr Balwinder Singh Chandi who has been fined £10,000 after failing to improve the poor living conditions for his tenants who rent his property on Bedford Road, Marston Moretaine.
An Improvement Notice by Central Bedfordshire Council was served following discovery of substandard living conditions and Mr Balwinder Singh Chandi opted not to carry out the required improvement which then caused the council to take the case to Luton Magistrates Court on December 18 2018 where fines and costs where handed out.
