New Survey Results Reveal : The Marketing channels Estate Agents Would Like to Get More Leads From !

Recently I surveyed 100 estate agents about lead generation methods for acquiring new instructions. The question posed was which marketing channels would you like more leads from?

So let’s start from the lowest to the  highest in percentages terms and discuss the findings,please note agents were not restricted to one option, they could pick as many channels as they liked.

 Generating – Leads – Via Sponsorship 21%

Sponsorship is a great way to gain visibility in your community that you’re working in but is not the easiest way to generate leads.

Depending on the type of sponsorship or fundraising events you decide to participate in, you can get a  steady stream of leads but this type of marketing is mainly for staying top of mind and for brand awareness.

Football is a very popular sponsorship choice for many agents and can yield good opportunities. Brainstorm ideas around getting members of the team to refer business.

 Google Ad-words 21 %

Pay per click marketing is an excellent way to gain more registered applicants and vendors alike, with the options available inside AdWords, it’s important that you have a clear goal for the campaign.

Is the purpose for lead generation, branding, re-engagement, or all three?

To help improve the overall performance, ensure the page you send visitors to correlates to the key words they have clicked on , also ensure the web page has a way of accruing their details if they don’t call you immediately.

Generating Leads Via Newsletters 27%

Newsletters /magazines is a neat option for lead generation efforts. My preference would be for physical publications with the right local editorial content, however if budget is an issue, then digital magazines can work equally well.

  Generating Leads Via Newspapers 32%

Local newspapers prior to the internet were for many agents the # No1 medium for marketing. There may be regional differences but there are numerous tactics that can be deployed; just ensure you are educating the local residents about relevant property topics that will position you as the go to agent in your area.  Please visit  this recent post on how to drive foot traffic to estate agents using editorial content.

 

 Generating Leads Via Direct Mail 42%

It’s no surprise that 42% of agents would like more leads from direct mail owing to the fact that it’s a very cost effective way to generate leads. Generating Leads Via Referrals 44%  

Getting more recommendations is the very best client acquisition strategy as you know you will  face less resistance to  your product offerings, because you have successfully demonstrated levels of professionalism to family members or friends that they know like and trust.

What you need to consider is how you can orchestrate referrals in a systematised fashion. Stay tuned for  an upcoming  post which reveals; How to get you loyal clients to send you endless referrals. Imagine you  got two good referrals from each landlord and vendor you do  business with.

 Generating Leads Via An In House Database 50%

Generating quality leads from an internal database should be right at the top of the list  of marketing activities to be done  regularly. Most of the database marketing  can be done via short sharp simple prospecting  phone calls  emails and text to maximise opportunities very effective with low cost outlay.

 Generating Leads Via Social Media  81%

More and more agents are embracing social media as a legitimate way to socially engage with new and existing clients with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, being seen as the popular platforms. Try to have a presence on as many of them as possible. Measure where you’re getting the most engagement.
