Oxford City Council’s accreditation scheme deemed ‘unlawful’
The Residential Landlords Association (RLA) has told Oxford City Council that its landlord accreditation scheme is ‘discriminatory’ and ‘unlawful’ and also breaches European Union directives.
A report on the Oxford Mail website shares that the words were told to Oxford City Council in relation to their private rented sector, David Smith, the policy director for the RLA, was quoted as saying: “It is very concerning that there are so many apparent illegalities in Oxford City Council’s accreditation scheme.
The RLA strongly urges the local authority to review the scheme and would welcome the chance to meet with council representatives to discuss our concerns further.”
