Record house sales for Bovis
Bovis homes the Kent based house builder reported that it had completed 1,525 homes in the six months to the end of June, a 3% rise on a year ago, which saw pre-tax profits lift 9% to £53.8 million, selling prices jumped 10% in the same period to £264,200.
Bovis stated that the market experienced solid levels of mortgage availability and good home buyer confidence backed by the extension of the Government’s Help to Buy programme, they said that as from mid-August it had lined up sales of 3,768 homes for the full year and is on track to meet its full-year volumes, which will be weighted towards the second half of the year.
David Ritchie chief executive for Bovis reportedly said: “We have delivered a strong first half performance in 2015 with a record number of legal completions and a further improvement in return on capital employed, for 2015 we are on track to deliver our expected volume of new homes and remain confident in our outlook for the year as a whole.”
