Shortage of properties for sale across UK

A severe shortage of properties available to buy across the UK is one of the main reasons for House prices remaining strong and continuing to rise, last month we saw house prices hit a new record average high of £195,621, that was according to the Nationwide.

Homeowners just do not appear to want to move, HouseSimple the online estate agents suggest that people are not selling and moving because of the excessive property prices that presently exist or just not confident about market conditions., sellers need to be encouraged back to the market they say.

According th HouseSimple new property listings across the UK fell 13 per cent in July, with Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh recording the biggest falls of 30 per cent compared to the previous month, new listings in London fell by 15% which is creating a serious shortage in the Capital.

A report published  by Lloyds found that the number of people moving home is in decline due to the huge costs involved,  this is  resulting in more people deciding to stay where they are,  resulting in less people putting there house up for sale.
