South Ayrshire Council launches Landlord accreditation scheme
An article yesterday published by Scottish Housing News reports South Ayrshire Council has launched a training scheme to help educate private landlords on a number of key topics in the sector.
The course is being developed in partnership with Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS) which is the national accreditation scheme for Scottish landlords & letting agents, promoting best practice in the private rented sector by offering training and education across the country. and advises landlords on best practice, including making sure tenants live in safe and fit for purpose accommodation.
Cllr Philip Saxton reportedly added: “I would encourage all private landlords with property in South Ayrshire to work toward becoming accredited and these training courses are an important step toward this goal.
“Becoming an accredited landlord or letting agent demonstrates you are committed to providing a service beyond the minimum legal requirements. Accreditation is a visible sign of quality which is sure to appeal to anyone looking for accommodation.”
