Britain’s property hotspots where estate agency branches are handling the most sales revealed

The latest internal data from Street.co.uk has revealed that estate agency branches using the platform are handling an average of 4.7 property sales per branch each month across Britain’s major cities, some two properties more per branch than the estimated wider market average of 2.7.

Street.co.uk analysed transactional activity across its own agent base to identify the average number of sales being handled by its member branches each month. The firm also analysed the wider market, comparing estimated residential sales volumes across major UK cities against the estimated number of estate agency branches operating within each location to calculate average monthly sales per branch based on transaction activity over the last 12 months.

Street.co.uk’s internal data shows that across the major cities analysed, its branches are handling an average of 4.7 sales per branch per month, some two properties more per branch than the wider market average of 2.7.

At city level, Glasgow currently ranks as the busiest location, with agents using the Street.co.uk platform handling an average of 17.3 sales per month. This compares to an estimated 5.4 sales per branch across the Glasgow market as a whole.

Liverpool ranks second when it comes to activity across Street.co.uk’s agent base, with an average of 10.3 sales each month, compared to the wider market benchmark of 3.3 sales per branch per month.

Nottingham completes the top three, with Street.co.uk branches handling an average of 9.9 sales per month. Again, this sits above the wider Nottingham market, where the average estate agency branch is estimated to account for 2.4 sales per month.

Manchester ranks fourth, with Street.co.uk branches handling an average of 9.2 sales per month, followed by Edinburgh and Southampton, both at 8.0 sales per branch.

Sheffield follows at 7.4 sales per branch per month, with Portsmouth at 6.4 and Newcastle at 5.3. Birmingham completes the top 10, with Street.co.uk branches handling an average of 4.5 sales per month.

Heather Staff, Co-CEO & Co-Founder of Street Group, commented:

“Our own data shows that Street.co.uk branches are handling higher transaction volumes than their competitors, with particularly strong levels of activity across some of Britain’s major cities.

“Across the cities we’ve analysed, Street.co.uk branches are handling an average of 4.7 sales per month, compared to 2.7 across the wider market. While technology alone doesn’t make a successful estate agency, having the right infrastructure in place can make an enormous difference to how effectively agents are able to manage and progress the opportunities available to them.

Our recent analysis also found that vendors who instruct a Street.co.uk agent are 23% more likely to see their property reach sold subject to contract status. So not only are Street.co.uk branches handling higher transaction volumes, they’re also successfully progressing a greater proportion of those opportunities towards a sale.

That’s where choosing technology that can scale with an agency becomes a genuine competitive advantage. Street.co.uk connects sales, lettings and wider agency operations within one platform, helping businesses reduce manual administration, maintain visibility across branches and create consistent workflows, while allowing their people to focus on the conversations, relationships and service that ultimately win and progress business.”
