Tuath Housing Association to redevelop Ellis Court in to Social Housing
An impressive and now vacant Victorian Dublin property (built in the 1880’s) is to be redeveloped in to social housing at a cost of €6 million by Tuath Housing Association.
22 units are to be created within ‘Ellis Court’ which was a former Dublin City Council building that has sat derelict since being damaged by fire back in 2005. Social housing will be provided now with Tuath Housing Association set to refurbish the four storey building on Benburb Street following securing planning permission for the works that are scheduled to commence in May 2019.
Plans include refurbishment of old flats, building of new extension to provide a further 6 x one bedroom apartments, 13 x two bed, 2 x two-bed town houses and 1 x three-bed town house. Once all are completed they will be going on to be allocated to the applicants on the city council’s waiting list for accommodation.
