Where to find Land for Sale

Planning disputes on new build land

For those of us looking for land for sale the search options are a touch more fragmented compared to when we are seeking property. Land, both with or without planning permission, is relatively in high demand in most locations across the UK and will usually have a waiting list of interested buyers.

Land with planning permission is a popular choice for investments / investors or for those that seek the ultimate location and design for building their dream home (self build). Land with planning permission will be sold at a premium cost and will be exceptionally more costly than land without planning permission. Planning can be for residential, commercial, storage and more.

Land without planning permission will be slightly more popular when you search for land for sale and will usually include equestrian, woodland and horticultural options. What can I plant on my land will be a common question and the answers will depend on individual local authorities and the deeds to the land. Your choices will be varied from those looking to use the land to hold livestock to others wishing to plant trees (Government launches new scheme to boost tree-planting) or vines for English sparkling wine production.

‘Land for sale in the UK’ search on Google will bring up a wide selection of websites from those with active live listings to those designed to help you find land / plots for sale via a service fee. The major UK property portals, Rightmove / Zoopla / OnTheMarket will all appear within the first two pages of results with each having a dedicated section for searching for land only (with or without planning).
