3 Home Staging Tips You’ll Need to Know When Selling Your Home

Surge in country and seaside property values

If you’re looking into selling your house and you’re wanting to maximise your earnings then the best way to achieve this would be through home staging. So what’s home staging? Well, it’s where you transform your home into a more neutral space so when visitors come and inspect your house, they can easily visualise themselves living there. Home staging also plays a role in showcasing the best features that the house (or apartment) has to offer.

This can include showing where some of the best lighting is, where the storage solutions are, and how elegant the house is. Overall, this is the best way to make your house shine and show its true value. The following tips are some of the best ways to transform your home so it can be swept out of the market in no time.

Begin by taking a look at the exterior

If you own a house then you’re going to want to inspect the property. Curb appeal is massive, so it’s important to get your property spring-ready. This can be achieved quite easily as well. Adding some colourful florals such as azaleas or other fragrant bushes can be great. You may even want to consider adding some luscious green plants, more grass, and even plants that are vibrant during all seasons. The goal of curb appeal is to make the house look homely just from the outside alone.

Avoid making the house personalised

It’s a bit odd to think about but you’re going to want to avoid personalising your own house when you’re focusing on home staging. This means removing any photos on the walls or shelves that are very personal such as containing people. But you’ll also want to remove any places in the house that have objects or décor that are sentimental. These all take away the neutralness of the house as you’re trying to make the house as relatable as possible so anyone can visualise themselves living.

That doesn’t mean that you can’t have décor, it’s further from the truth. In fact, it’s fully encouraged to have home décor when you’re home staging. This can include 4×4 Prints of landscapes or macro nature photography, paintings, statues, and plants as well. You’re just wanting to try and remove the personal touch of the home. In short, remove the personalised touches but still continue keeping some elements of life into the home through neutral décor.

Welcome some scents

If you’ve ever walked into a department store then chances are you’ve taken a big whiff of an aroma the very moment that you stepped into the store. This immediately makes you feel welcomed and relaxed. This is the exact thing that you’re going to want to do when you’re working on the home staging process of your house. It’s important to look some a welcoming scent, whether it be candles, air fresheners, or wax melts.

These should be a bit sweet but not overbearingly sweet as your goal is going to be welcoming the visitors who are shopping around at your house. Bakeries are a scent that everyone loves, so you can even go as far as making pastries and offering these to the homebuyers. You can even get a bread machine to help you out.
