10 Best House Warming Gifts for 2019

For many it will be a fun filled, though highly stressful (and costly), time and sometimes a roller coaster period in one’s life that once it has finally happened, ie you have been handed over the keys, it is a major celebration time.

Recent figures show that 1,223,400 residential sales took place in the UK for the entire year which means that there are many house warming gifts and house warm parties taking place! Some people will downsize and others upsize, first homes to moving abroad – Many different situations will involve a sale of a property.

If I was still in estate agency then I think I would make it standard that each sale involved some Champagne for vendor and buyer, but there are many other neat ideas to be given to new home owners:

  • Plants / Flowers / Greenery: Many people will welcome a new plant for their new home, be it a money plant (Crassula ovata) or even a wonderful bunch of flowers.
  • Wines / Wine related: A bottle or two of Champagne / fine wine will also be welcomingly received no matter what the occasion so it is a safe bet for a pressie for those new home owners. Corkscrew, wine glasses, decanters and more also play their role in delighting people.
  • Scented products / Candles: With so many fragrances and many times new home owners wanting to put their own mark on a new property, scented products (especially to the new homers taste) will be a great gift to give. Look at diffusers also which are currently very popular.
  • Gift baskets: These can usually be filled with products you best feel will suit the receiver from foods and wines to toiletries. A gift basket / hamper are always gratefully received and bring a smile of pleasure.
  • Vouchers / Cash: Especially for those younger home owners who are likely to have to be purchasing many items to fill their rooms, including essentials such as white goods, the likes of vouchers or cash will go a long way to making sure that you will be invited back regularly!
  • Fun items: You can bring a further cheer to the moment by purchasing something that is likely to bring a smile to everyone’s face such as funny door mats, bed clothes, cushion covers, kitchen towels, garden ornaments and more.
  • Art: Sometimes it is hard to purchase a piece of art that the receiver will appreciate, though a cleverly thought out item may appeal. Think such things as purchasing art from a very local artist or something which highlights the local area.
  • Foods: Many will opt for the likes of chocolates, pantry items such as unique pasta shapes, coffee, tea and more.
  • Serving Dishes / Cutlery: Many will love to receive either the complete service or unique and eye catching additions. You can go further afield and look at the likes of chopping boards, dish mats, knife sets and more.
  • Lucky gifts: The likes of a Feng Shui Good Health Lucky Cat, Lucky Sixpence Coin, Laughing Buddha statue and more.
