John Lewis announces store to close in Southsea

With 127 jobs at risk, John Lewis is said to be looking to close Knight & Lee & Partners in Southsea it has been recently reported.

As of October 2018, the John Lewis Partnership operated 52 John Lewis stores throughout Great Britain (wikipedia) though their smallest store based in Southsea is under threat of closure following an 18 month review of the business – Closure date is due for July 2019.

Dino Rocos of John Lewis, said “We have not taken this decision lightly and we considered every implication for our Partners, customers and the community. However, a unique combination of factors, including the significant investment required and the opportunity to sell the property freehold, makes this the right decision for the financial sustainability of our business…
